“If your nose itches, you
are going to be kissed by a fool.”
“Never eat walnuts aboard a ship”
Da Minha Vista Ponto is a comedy about eccentricity – different
ways of looking at the world . It is also about the patterns we
create, consciously or unconsciously, to make sense of our lives.
A towel with a distinctive pattern is hung out everyday at the
same time on a balcony of a flat in Castro Daire. One day it
does not appear and the lives of a disparate group of people are
disrupted: a professor of quantum physics does not know when to
go for coffee; a farmer cannot choose his lottery numbers and
the woman who believes herself to be a cat misses her daily
glimpse of the man who lives for nothing swimming naked in the
mountain pool.
An investigation into the disappearance of the librarian’s
neighbour reveals the connections between these people, leading
to conflict, romance and confusion.
The interweaving stories are told through a mixture of physical
and verbal comedy, projection and soundscapes.
“If you catch a falling leaf on the first day of Autumn
you will not catch a cold all winter.”
“Wish on the first robin you see in spring and your wish will
come true”
